Kate Middleton shows off her ‘Mum in lockdown’ style with this outfit choice

Kate has been known for her stylish outfits ever since becoming a royal in 2011. Since the UK went into lockdown, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have been calling various different frontline workers via video call.

The whole family including Prince George, 6, Princess Charlotte, 5 and Prince Louis, 2 applauded the NHS workers who are battling on the frontline.

An expert has revealed how Kate showed off her ‘Mum in lockdown’ style with her particular outfit choices.

Celebrity stylist and designer Lalla Bronshtein told the Express.co.uk: “Kate Middleton was head to tow in a stunning blue outfit when she applauded the NHS workers battling the coronavirus outbreak.

“The dress that she wore was a beautiful blue floral Ghost piece known as the ‘Anouk’ design. The floral print blue midi dress, which was perfectly selected for its soft, feminine feel, was finished with a vintage-inspired frill collar which was mirrored on the cuffs and at the hem.

“She also stepped all the family in blue to support the NHS – its official colour. This dress was the perfect choice for the occasion.”

Wearing blue to support the NHS and dressing the whole family in blue shows just how caring Kate is and shows her motherly side.

Susie Hasler, who runs Styled by Susie told the Express.co.uk: “Kate Middleton is getting everything right about her outfit choices in lockdown.”

The Duchess has kept her lockdown looks more simple and casual than her usual designer outfit choices.

Susie added: “She’s choosing styles that aren’t too formal, but are still structured, and in-keeping with the sartorial choices we’d expect from our Queen to be.

“It would make the Duchess seem out of touch if she was choosing glamorous gowns or expensive jewellery.

“Inside, she’s sending the message that she is in the current situation along with everyone else – that she is part of this with us.

“For Duchess of Cambridge’s Zoom call to midwives at Kingston Hospital, to say hi to new mums, she chose a casual look, which would have been much more relatable for women who have just given birth.”

Kate has recently been seen on one Zoom call wearing a casual stripe jumper.

Susie added: “Kate chose a Breton top which is a classic staple in every woman’s wardrobe.

“It’s a nod to her simple, chic, Parisian style and shows how she dresses when she’s off duty, at home with the children.”

Susie explains that Kate remains a firm favourite for women all around the world as a style icon.

She says: “Her dress…for the clap for the NHS was from Ghost, which sold out in seconds – proving how relatable, and affordable, her style is right now.”

The dress is still out of stock on the Ghost website but is retailing at £129 on other clothing stores like Next.

The Duchess has recently dressed so casual yet looks so elegant at the same time, showing off her ‘Mum in lockdown’ style as well as being relatable for women.
