My preference veers on the thick, voluminous, I’m-definitely-wearing-mascara side, so I layered Curl & Length on top of Volume. Both formulas are pliable, meaning you can easily swipe them through when you’ve already built up coats of the other without any crispiness. In my book, mascara should always be buildable, so this one passes the test.
The Curl & Length formula is also infused with fibers, but these are focused on making the lashes you grow yourself as long as las extensions. In the before-and-after photo above, I made sure to wipe off any concealer that was on my lashes so you could accurately see just how much Legit Lashes extended them.
As for its curling abilities, I don’t think it excels in this area. I give it a solid B-plus. If you are pro-lash curler like Kattan, though, you don’t have to worry about that. Another gripe I have is the wands are a little too short for my liking, but I’ll get over it.
This brush also is better suited for coating lower lashes without making a mess. The bristles on the inner part of the curve are teeny tiny, which I believe are just what the equally as delicate and thin hairs along your lower lash line deserve.
Step 3: Clean Up Time
If you can apply mascara and only get it on your lashes, I commend you. No matter how hard I try, I always end up with a smudge on the bridge of my nose and rogue splatters on my lids.
Coincidentally, my favorite brush for mascara cleanup is from Huda Beauty. The Smoke & Smudge Dual-Ended Eyeshadow Shader Brush has a large, flat side for wiping away marks on my nose and lids. If it doesn’t take off the mascara without anything on it, I put concealer on the back of my hand and rub the brush in it so it has a light coating of concealer on it instead of putting concealer on top of the smudge.
The tiny side is perfect for the lower lashline. It fits right under the lashes to whisk away stray pigment. A small concealer or lip brush works for this tip too.
After completing these three steps, your lashes will look something like this.
When you’re ready to take it off, I suggest reaching for a cleansing balm. It will gently melt away the mascara in less than a minute. The Then I Met You Living Cleansing Balm is the only product I remove mascara with, and it easily washes away this one. Not a speck was left over.
