I have been having a glorious week with filming and all things Made in Chelsea.
Since I’ve been involved with the show I’ve been lucky enough to have my make-up done by some of the best cosmetic artists in the industry.
I am so lucky as this is where I pick up all of the best tips and, being a beauty sponge, I can’t get enough of those tricks. Now, I am passing them on to you…

Cheekbones to die for! Made in Chelsea’s Binky Felstead demonstrates how to achieve a contoured look that Kim Kardashian herself would envy
There’s one trend that everyone’s talking about at the moment and that’s contouring.
If you haven’t already heard, it’s a make-up artist’s secret which uses light and dark shades of foundation to sculpt your face, making the most of your best features and disguising any flaws.
Kim Kardashian is a big fan and after seeing her working her contouring magic on Instagram, I knew I had to give this new craze a try – after all she is the selfie queen!
The big news is this insider secret is now available for beauty lovers with the help of at-home contouring kits.
In the last few months, I’ve started experimenting with my look.
After trying several products from different brands, I still struggled to find the right ones for me, no matter how much I tried I couldn’t get it right – it was time to call in my own glorious make-up artist Mikey Phillips for some advice.
He suggested I take a look at a new brand he’d used on a photo-shoot recently, Iconic London – he was raving about their contour palettes so we set about giving it a try and before I knew it, I was getting an on-the-spot tutorial.
And begin… Binky says it’s best to start by creating a blank canvas with foundation then highlight areas of your face with light cream
The great thing about this product is it gives you a step-by-step guide on how to create perfect contouring at home.
I’m not going to lie, this probably is not an everyday look as it does take a bit of time, but for a night out or a special occasion, it’s well worth it. It will completely transform your face.
These palettes can be pricey and cost anything from £45-£70 but the Iconic London one is only £32.99, and it does actually suit every complexion.
I loved the look so much that it is now a permanent fixture in my make-up bag.
BINKY’S GUIDE TO THE PERFECT FACE CONTOUR
Make sure you moisturise, and use a good primer, (I’m currently in love with Iconic’s Retexturizing Primer.) Apply a light coat of Bobbi Brown Longwear Even Finish Foundation to create a blank canvas.
Take one of the lighter colours from the palette that best suits your complexion. I applied the light shade to my cheekbones with Spectrum Best Face Forward Concealer Brush, down the bridge of my nose up into an upside down triangle on my forehead then swept the shade under my eye area.
Then sweep a darker shade over the hollows of your cheeks and your hair line before you begin blending
Contour each section of your face separately for a flawless finish and then set with a lose powder
I then applied one of Iconic’s darker hues to the hollow of my cheeks, across the top of my hairline and down the side of my nose to create a slimmer effect. Then, with the same dark shade a sweep across my jawbone. Mikey demonstrated how I could use the alternating shades in my palette to create shades that would work best with my skin tone.
Then comes the exciting part – the blending. Take a blending sponge, blend the light with dark using soft pressing motions until you achieve a seamless finish. I just love this section and have got quite obsessed with my real techniques blender.
Remember contouring should look natural so blend section by section. It’s best to start from the inner area of your face and sweep outwards. Blend the lighter shades into the dark and don’t be tempted to use your fingers, you might end up with a blotchy finish.
Complete the look with a sweep of blusher and dab of highlighter for a dewy finish
Looking pretty perfect by now, set those newly discovered cheekbones with powder.
We used Iconic London’s powder contour palette to set everything into place. Use the lighter colours you used to highlight and then use your bronzing shades to really bring those cheekbones to life.
Here’s my best tip, a perfect pout will help you to place the powder in the correct place.
We perfected the look with Iconic London’s highlighter that’s shot with gold, a quick brush just above the cheekbones and under my eyebrows gave me a gorgeous dewy look.
Lastly, add a little colour to your face to bring it to life. I love Nars orgasm blush – just apply to the apple of your cheeks and you’ll be selfie ready! Perfect.
